Students of the Ortenburg Gymnasium visit NABU
Recently, a 10th grade class of the Ortenburg Gymnasium Oberviechtach visited us. After an introduction to our company history and the diverse business areas, we went through the company in three groups. Workpieces were pre-treated and powder-coated and in the chemistry laboratory it was a matter of who was skilled enough to elicit all the colours from the indicator.
First NABU Stulln Cup
On 15.06.2024, the 1st NABU Stulln Cup took place on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of TSV Stulln 1954. In addition to the host, SV Diendorf, SC Altfalter and 1. FC Schmidgaden competed in the tournament of the 2nd teams. In the end, the home team of TSV Stulln was able to win the 1st NABU Cup. Congratulations again!
NABU strengthens its commitment in the Middle East and cooperates with the MetaPro Group
Since 15.12.2023, there has been a sales cooperation between NABU-Oberflächentechnik GmbH and the MetaPro Group, which operates in the Middle East, together with Metachem Sperzel to acquire and optimally support customers in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
New partnership with Teijo
In view of NABU's goal of becoming an even stronger system partner in the future, a partnership has now been concluded with the Finnish company Teijo Cleaning Machines Ltd. in order to optimally cover the area of parts cleaning.
In addition to NABU Chemistry, hazardous goods and process consulting as well as measurement and control technology, the portfolio of NABU-Oberflächentechnik GmbH now also includes a wide variety of parts cleaning machines.
Best high school diploma in chemistry 2023
NABU has been cooperating with the Johann-Andreas-Schmeller-Gymnasium Nabburg since 2009. The award of a sponsorship prize for the best chemistry high school graduation has become a tradition. This year the award winner is Michael Hägler. Congratulations!
NABU at Pulversymposium Dresden 2023
At the end of January 2023, the 32nd Pulversymposium took place in Dresden. On these two days, participants from the powder coating industry met for one of the largest meetings in this field. In addition to the opportunity to listen to a variety of lectures and to have exciting discussions, NABU also took part in the accompanying exhibition.
Stulln youth fire brigade visits NABU
On Friday, the Stulln youth fire brigade visited NABU. After a production tour, a practical part followed in the laboratory with 3-color titration, copper plating of steel sheets and silvering of copper coins. An all-round successful afternoon for everyone involved.

Students of the Konrad-Max-Kunz-Realschule visit NABU
In the last week before the summer holidays, students from the Konrad-Max-Kunz-Realschule Schwandorf were guests at NABU in Stulln. Divided into three groups, the stations laboratory, pre-treatment with powder coating and a company tour were on the program, which meant a very varied morning for the students.
Experimental lessons with NABU at the Realschule Nabburg
The students of the 9th grade of the mathematics branch were allowed to carry out experiments together with NABU in two lessons. There were two experiments on redox reactions, one on the rearrangement of sugar and one on the acid-base reaction, in which the students were able to experience what they had learned in practice.

NABU Health Action 2022 as part of occupational health management
This year's health campaign was held under the motto POLAR BodyAge System and took place in cooperation with the Employers' Liability Insurance Association for raw materials and the chemical industry. Andreas Mederer from the Physioteam Lappersdorf was on site with us in Stulln and carried out the action, which consisted of several individual exercises and tests, such as the determination of blood pressure and body fat value or measurement of body resistance. The results were then evaluated and discussed. It was shown which biological age can be realized through an adapted program to increase well-being and physical fitness.
Successful trade fair appearance of NABU at the Paint Expo 2022
After a four-year pandemic-related break, the Paint Expo took place again in Karlsruhe from 26 to 29 April 2022. The joy was great and clearly noticeable among the exhibitors and visitors. A good opportunity also for NABU to hold interesting discussions, to make new contacts and to maintain existing partnerships. In this way we would like to thank all visitors of our booth!
Congratulations on becoming Industriefachwirt (IHK) and to AdA certificate!
From September 2020 to February 2022, Esther did a further education to become Industriefachwirt (IHK) and get AdA certificate part-time and has now successfully completed it.
Esther has been with NABU since September 2015. After training as an industrial clerk, she now works in the human resources department.
We wish her continued happiness and success at NABU!
Practical day of TH Nürnberg at NABU
On 15th of February 2022 the practical day of the TH Nürnberg took place at the NABU. The varied program aroused great interest. After a brief presentation of the company and a short introduction to the topic of surface pretreatment of metals, tests were carried out in the technical center. After a subsequent powder coating, mechanical tests to ensure perfect paint adhesion were on the agenda. Bath analyzes of the chemicals used and coating weight determinations were also carried out in the laboratory. The day ended with a production tour and a final discussion with very positive feedback from the students!

NABU at the middle school in Nabburg
At the invitation of the responsible teacher, Mr. Harald Bauer, NABU-Oberflächentechnik GmbH presented itself to the 21 8th grade students on November 23, 2021 over two school hours, mainly to introduce the profession of chemical technician, which is rather unknown.
After a short lecture about the company and the training opportunities at NABU, a detailed practical part with various stations followed. Among other things, scribing and graining could be tried out in metalworking. In the chemistry area, a galvanic experiment about the deposition of copper on aluminum and zinc surfaces was on the program. And at the plant engineering station, both a flux pump and a spray head from the powder mixer could be dismantled and assembled.
It was an all-round successful event for all participants.
NABU at Expo-Surface 2021 in Kielce
At the Expo-Surface in Kielce, Poland, manufacturers and dealers of surface treatment and corrosion protection technology present themselves every year. NABU was also represented there with a booth in order to further increase awareness in the Polish market.
NABU at Pulversymposium Dresden and OFI Pulvertag 2021
The Pulversymposium in Dresden 2021 and the OFI Pulvertag 2021 in Austria were ideal platforms for NABU to participate in face-to-face events again after a long time. The NABU exhibition stand in Dresden was well attended. At the OFI Pulvertag, there was a lecture by NABU on the topic of the possibilities of multi-metal pretreatment. Both were very successful events!

Fire protection instruction // firefighting exercise 2021
At NABU it was time again for the annual fire protection instruction. After the theoretical refreshment of the knowledge, the practical firefighting exercise was on the program. Here every employee could try the various fire extinguishers. A big thank you to the fire department of Stulln for their professional support!
Use of chromium trioxide only until 21st of September 2024
The European Commission decided on the approval of chromium trioxide on 22nd December 2020. Thereafter, the use of chromium trioxide for surface pretreatment is permitted until 21st of September 2024. However, this means that downstream users now have additional obligations. A detailed explanation of these measures to be carried out has already been made available to the respective coating companies in a separate customer information sheet. We would be happy to support you on all aspects of this topic and advise and support you regarding a change to our approved chrome-free alternatives.
NABU-Oberflächentechnik GmbH has expanded
Since September 2020 NABU Schweiz AG is available for the customers in Switzerland as a competent contact regarding chemical pretreatment. It is the company's declared aim to implement the customer proximity that has been practiced up to now in Switzerland as well. This lived company philosophy consistently results in a step that ensures the availability of all the strengths of the entire company for the Swiss market. These strengths go far beyond the supply of high-quality chemical products for wet chemical pretreatment. Support in the planning of new systems and the optimization of existing systems are just as much a part of the range of services as is now also equipment for bath parameterization and automatic dosing of process chemicals.
NABU produces disinfectants during the corona crisis
Due to the increased global demand for disinfectants and the associated delivery bottlenecks, entrepreneurial flexibility is required. NABU is now working with the district administration of Schwandorf and mixing disinfectants in larger quantities to meet current needs. The authority supplies raw alcohol as the necessary raw material and NABU uses it to produce the correct mixture. The further distribution is then coordinated by the disaster control of the district administration.
Practice day of the TH Nürnberg at NABU - anything but superficial!
On 5th of March 2020 NABU took part at the practice day of the university TH Nürnberg. Three students were interested in getting to know NABU better. After a brief introduction of the company and a brief introduction to the subject of surface pretreatment of metals, some trials followed in the technical center. In order to get to know the difference between the different applications, the trials were performed in dipping and spraying. After a subsequent powder coating, the mechanical test took place to ensure that the paint adhesion is OK. In addition, bath analyzes of the used chemicals and layer weight determinations were carried out in the laboratory. The day was rounded off with a production tour and a final discussion. The feedback from the students was great!
NABU at the Pulversymposium Dresden 2020
The 30th Pulversymposium Dresden in 2020 was the ideal platform for NABU to present itself to a broad audience in the exhibition area with a stand and a joint lecture on "Duplex system with corrosion protected powder coating". The topic aroused great interest, which subsequently led to interesting discussions.
Career finding day 2020 at the secondary school Nabburg
NABU was on site as part of the 2020 career finding day at the secondary school of Nabburg to introduce itself to the students as a training company. Christoph Tschirch and Heiner Weiß have focused on the two apprenticeships laboratory chemist and chemical technician and initially presented them theoretically. Subsequently, two chemical trials provided the necessary practical relevance. This was very well received by the students, as some students were allowed to participate themselves.
NABU again at the education fair in Maxhütte
This year 94 exhibitors ensured a record participation at the 18th education fair in Maxhütte-Haidhof. NABU was also represented again to show young people the career opportunities at NABU in a personal conversation. The trainee film of the industrial park in Stulln also gave deeper insights into the jobs of laboratory chemist and chemical technician. The pH value measurement specially prepared for the trade fair encouraged people to participate. The pH value of everyday liquids such as cola or juice could be determined independently. This was very well received by the young people. The current trainees at NABU and the trainers have received very positive feedback on the event. NABU will definitely be there again next year and is now looking forward to many applications.
